Online Tools
As well as access to data in the form of publications and other fixed formats (see Queensland by Theme and Publications above), this site offers online tools which allow you to extract data to your own specifications or to test scenarios.
QRSIS (Queensland Regional Statistical Information System)
The Queensland Regional Statistical Information System (QRSIS) is a regional database developed by the Office of Economic and Statistical Research. QRSIS is designed to provide easy and immediate access to various time-series collections of economic, social and demographic data for regions throughout Queensland – including the newly reformed local government regions.
QRSIS holds the most recent regional statistical information available from a variety of Australian and State government sources. QRSIS is immediately updated with the release of contemporary statistics for selected data collections. QRSIS-generated tables can be printed, saved or exported into other applications for analysis.
Thematic Mapping
The Thematic Mapping tool allows users to map data from selected collections in QRSIS. The thematic maps of Queensland provide a unique and informative representation of the states economy, people and regions. Thematic maps allow for quick identification of data relationships and comparisons between small area geographic regions. Characteristics such as persons aged 65 and over, gross value of crops, non-residential buildings approved and persons born overseas can be viewed and analysed thematically for both the local government areas and statistical local areas.
Queensland Regional Profiles
The Queensland Regional Profiles are dynamic statistical reports based on local government area data within the selected statistical division of your choice. Each profile accesses the latest data available in the Queensland Regional Statistical Information System (QRSIS). You can select single or mulitiple topics based on population, builiding approvals, tourist accommodation, school students and the labour force. A customised report is then generated based on the selected regions and topics.
Local Government Area Profiles
The Local Government Area (LGA) Profiles are standard statistical reports based on a region of your choice. You can select a single LGA or define your own region by selecting several LGAs. A customised report is then generated based on the selected regions. Each report covers several topics, including population and growth rates, business, building activity, agriculture and employment. Each report generated uses the most recent available data for each topic.
